2020 Vernissage Poster

2020 might not be a year you want to remember, but it is one you will never forget.  It was also, without a doubt, a challenging year for most students, especially for those who are graduating.

The Mandate

As the educational year comes to an end, graphic design students, including myself, had to design a poster to represent the graduating year studying graphic design at Dawson College.

The Approach

The approach was to keep it very minimalistic and play with the year’s numbers. The shifting forms of 2020 symbolize a year of change, moving upward and becoming better for the graduating students. It is also reminiscent of a race track, meaning that it is not the end, but only the beginning of bright future.

The final poster is dynamic, with a nice motion effect by using contrast and balance. This poster won fifth place in faculty voting.
